Well, you can take the teacher out of the classroom, but you can't take the classroom out of the teacher . . .

  

You never really know how things are going to turn out and one of the more unexpected turns my career has taken recently is that I have found myself doing lots of work for schools, and many other interesting organisations - combining my previous experience of teaching and youth work with my current job as a Children's Author.

As well as attending LOTS of schools as a visiting author, I have recently worked on a whole range of different training and consultancy projects - from facilitating bedtime story writing workshops in prisons, to reading for pleasure mentoring in schools.

I really enjoy running workshops for all ages (including INSET days for teachers and presentation/training sessions for parents) and, as well as strorytelling/creative writing events, I also help with promoting reading and writing for pleasure, and creating healthy learning environments.
